Better City, Better Life:
The 4th International Association for China Planning (IACP) Conference
China’s evolving urban and regional policies and new thinking about sustainable development have attracted worldwide attention. It has made great progress in urban development since the successful World Planning Schools Congress in 2001. Shanghai is also hosting the first World Exposition that attracts huge worldwide visitors. In response to the Expo theme “Better City, Better Life,” following successful international conferences on China’s Urban Development and Planning in 2007, 2008, and 2009,, IACP, together with Tongji University, is hosting the fourth Annual IACP conference on June 19th-20th, 2010 at Tongji University. This conference will bring together researchers, planners and other government officials from China and around the world to exchange ideas around the theme “Better Cities, Better Life.” The conference is supported by Tongji University, the Urban Planning Society of China, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, ESRI (China), and Shenzhen Planning and Land Resource Management Bureau.
