Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Inaugural IACP Academic Writing Workshop for Junior Urban Scholars, co-hosted by the International Association for China Planning and the School of Public Policy and Management, Tsinghua University, has been postponed to January 8-10, 2021. We seek to improve written scholarship among junior scholars of urban planning and related fields in mainland China. The workshop will include whole-group seminar sessions on academic writing, publication, and career development strategies, as well as intensive small-group discussion sessions on participants’ own manuscripts led by senior international scholars.

Depending on the COVID-19 situation in Beijing, the workshop will be virtual with the possibility of in-person meetings for domestic participants already in Mainland China.

  1. All editors and participants outside mainland China will participate virtually via Zoom or Tencent/VooV. If in-person meetings are allowed in Beijing in January 2021, participants already in mainland China will meet in person at Tsinghua University for the activities during January 8-10, 2021.
  2. The workshop includes whole-group lectures and small group discussions. The whole-group lectures by the invited editors will be broadcast to the public audience, but only invited workshop participants will be able to join via the online meeting platform. Small-group discussions are only available for invited participants.
