2021 IACP Business Meeting was successfully held online

The International Association for China Planning (IACP) successfully hosted its business meeting online on October 8, 2021. More than 80 scholars across globe attended the meeting.

At the beginning, Prof. Marlon Bornet (University of Southern California), president of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP), and Prof. Laxmi Ramasubramanian (San José State University), president-elect of ACSP, gave the opening remarks for this meeting. After that, Prof. Lingqian Hu (University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee), chair of IACP, introduced the key goals of IACP and summarized the key activities organized in 2020 and 2021. These activities include the 14th and 15th IACP Annual Conferences, the writing workshop for junior urban scholars, six job information sessions, three job market experience roundtables, two academic writing seminars, and the career development roundtable. In addition, IACP also hosted two lecture series with other organizations, such as the World Transport Convention and China Highway Transportation and Society, and three journal special issues. Prof. Jige Quan (Seoul National University) announced the winners of six IACP awards. Prof. Hongwei Dong (California State University, Fresno), chair-elect and conference committee chair, introduced the new IACP Board of Directors (2021-2023). Prof. Junfeng Jiao (University of Texas, Austin), treasurer, gave a financial report of IACP in 2021 and invited scholars to join IACP as members. Finally, all the attendees in the meeting discussed several important issues, including how to serve the planning scholars both in and outside China during the pandemic and how to continue efficient academic communication in the new global environment.
