The 13th annual conference of the International Association for China Planning (IACP) was held in Chengdu, China, On June 14-July 16, 2019.It was organized by the IACP and the School of Architecture and Design, Southwest Jiaotong University. The theme of this conference was \u201cSharing cities: Challenges and responses to new urban planning.\u201d<\/p>\n

The conference brought together more than 500 planning scholars and practitioners from around the world.<\/p>\n

The 13th IACP Annual Conference Openning Ceremony<\/p><\/div>\n

This conference featured world-renowned speakers and international experts.<\/p>\n

Keynote talks<\/p><\/div>\n

The conference had more than 350 papers presented within 84 parallel sessions, which were organized into fourteen broad themes.<\/p>\n

The conference organized a series of special sessions. The topics included the “Belt and Road” development, healthy cities, underground space planning, informal development, urban spatial structure, and planning for accessibility (IACP-sponsored special issue in Transportation Research Part D).<\/p>\n

The conference also organized a roundtable between IACP and journal editors. The journals participating in the conference included CCPR\uff08\u57ce\u5e02\u89c4\u5212\u82f1\u6587\u7248\uff09, International Urban Planning, Urban Planning Journal, Shanghai Urban Planning, and Journal of Urban and Rural Planning.<\/p>\n

Presentations, workshops, and routables<\/p><\/div>\n

Four awards were presented at the closing ceremony: The IACP Best Student Paper Award, the Karen R. Polenske Award, the IACP Distinguish Service Award, and the IACP Rising Scholar Award.<\/p>\n
