Dr. Zhongjie Lin is a scholar and practitioner of urbanism. He researches and teaches urban design, ecological urbanism, utopianism, and Asian architecture and urbanism. He is also a founding director of Futurepolis, an awarding-winning international\u00a0planning and design consultancy.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\u6797\u4e2d\u6770\u535a\u58eb\u662f\u90fd\u5e02\u4e3b\u4e49\u7684\u5b66\u8005\u548c\u5b9e\u8df5\u8005\uff0c\u4ed6\u7814\u7a76\u548c\u6559\u5b66\u7684\u9886\u57df\u5305\u62ec\u57ce\u5e02\u8bbe\u8ba1\u3001\u751f\u6001\u90fd\u5e02\u4e3b\u4e49\u3001\u4e4c\u6258\u90a6\u4e3b\u4e49\u3001\u4e9a\u6d32\u5efa\u7b51\u4e0e\u57ce\u5e02\u3002\u9664\u4e86\u5728\u5bbe\u5927\u7684\u7ec8\u8eab\u6559\u804c\uff0c\u4ed6\u4e5f\u662f\u56fd\u9645\u6027\u8bbe\u8ba1\u54a8\u8be2\u673a\u6784\u672a\u6765\u90fd\u5e02\u4e8b\u52a1\u6240\u7684\u8054\u5408\u521b\u529e\u4eba\u3002

Dr. Lin is author or co-author of several books including Urban Design in the Global Perspective (2006),\u00a0\u00a0Kenzo Tange and the Metabolist Movement (2010),\u00a0The Making of a Chinese Model New Town (2012), Vertical Urbanism (2018), and most recently\u00a0Rio de Janeiro: Urban Expansion and Environment (2019). He is writing a new book examining the contemporary urbanization in China through the lens of its massive new town movement in the last thirty years. He also leads an interdisciplinary research project studying the “Spatial Visions Connecting China and the West,” sponsored by Penn Global.

Dr. Lin is recipient of multiple distinguished honors including a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship in 2012, a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2013, and an Abe Fellowship in 2014. His work has also been recognized with three individual grants for publication or research from the Graham Foundation in 2008, 2011, and 2019 respectively, as well as a New Researcher Award by the Architectural Research Centers Consortium in 2012.

Before he joined the Weitzman School of Design at Penn,\u00a0Dr. Lin was\u00a0Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he had served as director of Master of Urban Design Program since 2014. He holds a Ph.D. in Architectural History and Theory from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Architecture from Tongji University.
