Dr. Tianren Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the University of Hong Kong. He was a Post-doctoral Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, a Junior Research Fellow at Clare Hall, and a Lincoln Institute Scholar at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. Dr. Yang received a Ph.D. in architecture (applied urban modeling) from the University of Cambridge, an M.Sc. in urban design from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an M.Eng. in urban planning and a B.Eng. in landscape architecture from Tongji University.

\u6768\u5929\u4eba\u4ece\u4e8b\u57ce\u5e02\u6f14\u5316\u673a\u5236\u4e0e\u57ce\u5e02\u7cfb\u7edf\u5efa\u6a21\u7814\u7a76\uff0c\u5173\u6ce8\u5bf9\u57ce\u5e02\u53d1\u5c55\uff08\u5982\u623f\u5730\u4ea7\u5e02\u573a\u3001\u804c\u4f4f\u7a7a\u95f4\u9009\u62e9\u3001\u5c45\u6c11\u798f\u7949\u53d8\u5316\uff09\u7684\u89c4\u5f8b\u8bc6\u522b\u3001\u91cf\u5316\u5f52\u56e0\u4e0e\u672a\u6765\u63a8\u6f14\u3002\u7814\u7a76\u6210\u679c\u53d1\u8868\u5728\u5305\u62ec\u300a<\/span><\/span>Regional Studies<\/span>\u300b\u3001\u300a<\/span>Journal of Planning Literature<\/span>\u300b\u3001\u300a<\/span>International Journal of Geographical Information Science<\/span>\u300b\u3001\u300a<\/span>Cities<\/span>\u300b\u3001\u300a<\/span>Journal of Urban Technology<\/span>\u300b\u3001\u300a<\/span>Environment and Planning B<\/span>\u300b\u3001\u300a\u57ce\u5e02\u89c4\u5212\u5b66\u520a\u300b\u3001\u300a\u56fd\u9645\u57ce\u5e02\u89c4\u5212\u300b\u7b49\u57ce\u5e02\u7814\u7a76\u4e0e\u89c4\u5212\u9886\u57df\u7684\u56fd\u5185\u5916\u77e5\u540d\u671f\u520a\uff0c\u3002\u4ed6\u76ee\u524d\u62c5\u4efb\u300a<\/span>Journal of Urban Planning and Development<\/span>\u300b\u7f16\u59d4\u4f1a\u6210\u5458\u548c\u300a\u56fd\u9645\u57ce\u5e02\u89c4\u5212\u300b\u7279\u9080\u7f16\u8f91\u3002<\/span>

Dr. Yang’s research interests include urban growth mechanisms and urban systems models. His current research agenda focuses on the pattern detection, quantitative attribution, and predictive modeling of urban development (e.g., real estate market, workplace-residence choices, and social welfare). His research has been published in leading journals in urban studies and planning, including Regional Studies<\/em>, Journal of Planning Literature<\/em>, International Journal of Geographical Information Science<\/em>, Cities<\/em>, Journal of Urban Technology<\/em>, Environment and Planning B<\/em>, Urban Planning Forum<\/em>, and Urban Planning International<\/em>. He is now serving as an editorial board member of Journal of Urban Planning and Development<\/em> and a special issue editor of Urban Planning International<\/em>.

\u5728\u79d1\u7814\u4e4b\u5916\uff0c\u6768\u5929\u4eba\u81f4\u529b\u4e8e\u5bf9\u7814\u7a76\u6210\u679c\u7684\u5e94\u7528\u8f6c\u5316\u4e0e\u77e5\u8bc6\u4ea4\u6d41\u3002\u4ed6\u548c\u56e2\u961f\u5171\u540c\u5b8c\u6210\u4e86\u5bf9\u4e2d\u56fd\uff08\u5317\u4eac\u3001\u4e0a\u6d77\uff09\u3001\u7f8e\u56fd\uff08\u829d\u52a0\u54e5\uff09\u53ca\u82f1\u56fd\uff08\u4f26\u6566\u3001\u5251\u6865\uff09\u7b49\u56fd\u5bb6\u5178\u578b\u5927\u90fd\u5e02\u533a\u7684\u4e2d\u8fdc\u671f\u53d1\u5c55\u9884\u6d4b\u3002\u4ed6\u5728\u9999\u6e2f\u5927\u5b66\u4e3b\u8bb2\u300a\u57ce\u5e02\u53d1\u5c55\u7406\u8bba\u300b\u3001\u300a\u7a7a\u95f4\u89c4\u5212\u5206\u6790\u65b9\u6cd5\u300b\u7b49\u4e13\u4e1a\u8bfe\u7a0b\uff0c\u5e76\u6b63\u5728\u7b79\u5907\u9999\u6e2f\u653f\u5e9c\u57f9\u8bad\u8bfe\u7a0b\u7684\u5f00\u53d1\u3002\u6768\u5929\u4eba\u66fe\u83b7\u4e16\u754c\u5730\u7406\u7a7a\u95f4<\/span>50 <\/span>\u4f4d\u65b0\u661f\u5956\u53ca\u5165\u9009\u798f\u5e03\u65af\u4e2d\u56fd<\/span>“30<\/span>\u4f4d<\/span>30<\/span>\u5c81\u4ee5\u4e0b\u7cbe\u82f1\u699c<\/span>“<\/span>\uff08\u79d1\u5b66\u548c\u533b\u7597\u5065\u5eb7\u7c7b\uff09\u3002<\/span>

Apart from engaging with the academic community, Dr. Yang endeavors to apply research insights to practical decision-making. He has taken part in the development of predictive models for several dominant city regions in China (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Greater Shanghai), the United States (Chicago Metropolitan Area), and the United Kingdom (Greater London and Cambridge). He is the course coordinator of Urban Development Theories and Spatial Planning Analytics. He is also preparing for the executive education courses for the local authorities in Hong Kong. Dr. Yang was awarded Geospatial World 50 Rising Stars and has been included on the <\/span>Forbes 30 Under 30 China<\/em> list for Science and Healthcare.

Dr. Yang is a member of IACP and has been actively engaged in IACP conferences and activities. He was awarded IACP Karen R. Polenske Best Student Paper Award (2019) and served as a panelist in the IACP’s Job Search & Career Development Workshop (2021).
