Wei Zhai, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the School of Architecture and Planning at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Prior to joining UTSA, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at Hong Kong Baptist University. He obtained a Master of Engineering in Computer Engineering in 2020 and a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning in 2021 from the University of Florida. He also obtained a Master of Urban Planning from Tsinghua University in 2017 and a Bachelor of Engineering in Urban Planning from Hunan University in 2015. He received the Outstanding International Student Award, Paul and Malea Zwick Graduate Student Award, and DCP Research Symposium Best Poster Award from the University of Florida.

\u7fdf\u709c\u535a\u58eb\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u5173\u6ce8\u4f7f\u7528\u5927\u6570\u636e\u4e0e\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\u65b9\u6cd5\u8ba4\u8bc6\u5e76\u63d0\u5347\u57ce\u5e02\u97e7\u6027\uff0c\u5e76\u63d0\u4f9b\u89c4\u5212\u7b56\u7565\u3002\u4ed6\u548c\u56e2\u961f\u57fa\u4e8e\u4ee5\u4eba\u4e3a\u672c\u7684\u89c6\u89d2\u5bf9\u98d3\u98ce\u3001\u6781\u70ed\u5929\u6c14\u3001\u66b4\u98ce\u96ea\u3001\u6cbf\u6d77\u6d2a\u6d9d\u7b49\u6c14\u5019\u707e\u5bb3\u4e8b\u4ef6\u5f00\u5c55\u7814\u7a76\uff0c\u5e76\u4ed6\u81f4\u529b\u4e8e\u901a\u8fc7\u591a\u5b66\u79d1\u4ea4\u53c9\u5408\u4f5c\u63a8\u8fdb\u57ce\u5e02\u97e7\u6027\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u3002\u4ed6\u7684\u5408\u4f5c\u8005\u5305\u62ec\u57ce\u5e02\u89c4\u5212\u3001\u8ba1\u7b97\u673a\u79d1\u5b66\u4e0e\u5de5\u7a0b\u3001\u571f\u6728\u4e0e\u73af\u5883\u5de5\u7a0b\u3001\u4ea4\u901a\u89c4\u5212\u3001\u516c\u5171\u653f\u7b56\u3001\u65b0\u95fb\u4f20\u64ad\u7b49\u9886\u57df\u5b66\u8005\u3002\u4ed6\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u6210\u679c\u53d1\u8868\u5728<\/span>Journal of Planning Education and Research, Journal of the American Planning Association, Urban Studies, Annals of the American Association of Geographers, Computers, Environment and Urban Systems<\/span>\u7b49\u89c4\u5212\u4e0e\u5730\u7406\u77e5\u540d\u671f\u520a\uff0c\u540c\u65f6\u62c5\u4efb<\/span>Travel Behaviour & Society <\/span>\u7f16\u59d4\u4f1a\u6210\u5458\u4e0e\u4e8c\u5341\u4f59\u672c\u56fd\u9645\u671f\u520a\u5ba1\u7a3f\u4eba\u3002<\/span>

Dr. Zhai focuses on leveraging big data and AI to understand and enhance urban resilience. His human-centric research is in the context of hurricane, extreme heat, snowstorm, coastal flooding, etc. He aims to develop the research agenda of urban resilience through interdisciplinary collaboration with scholars in urban planning, computer science and engineering, civil and environmental engineering, transportation planning, public policy, journalism, etc. His recent work is published in the Journal of Planning Education and Research, Journal of the American Planning Association, Urban Studies, and Annals of the American Association of Geographers. Computers, Environment and Urban Systems, etc. He is also an editorial member of Travel Behaviour & Society and a reviewer for over 20 international journals.

\u7fdf\u709c\u662f<\/span>IACP<\/span>\u7684\u957f\u671f\u4f1a\u5458\uff0c\u591a\u6b21\u53c2\u4e0e\u7ebf\u4e0b\u4e0e\u7ebf\u4e0a\u5e74\u4f1a\u6c47\u62a5\uff0c\u5e76\u53c2\u4e0e\u4e86\u4e2d\u7f8e\u57ce\u5e02\u89c4\u5212\u9879\u76ee\u6c42\u5b66\u7ecf\u9a8c\u7684\u5706\u684c\u8bba\u575b\u8ba8\u8bba\u3002<\/span>

Dr. Zhai is a long-time member of IACP and has been actively engaged in the IACP conference. He also previously served as a panelist in the IACP panel discussion about how to thrive in America’s urban planning program.
