Dr. Qunshan Zhao is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Urban Analytics in Urban Studies and an Associate Director (Urban Sensing & Analytics) of Urban Big Data Centre (UBDC) in the School of Social and Political Sciences. He holds both Ph.D. and M.A. in Geography\/GIScience from the Arizona State University in the USA and a B.E. in Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, and GIS from the Wuhan University in China. Prior to coming to the UK, he was a postdoctoral research associate in the Knowledge Exchange for Resilience (KER<\/a>) and Spatial Analysis Research Center (SPARC<\/a>) at the Arizona State University.

\u8d75\u7fa4\u5c71\u76ee\u524d\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u7814\u7a76\u65b9\u5411\u4e3a\u8fd0\u7528\u57ce\u5e02\u65b0\u578b\u6570\u636e\uff08\u5305\u62ec\u4f4f\u623f\uff0c\u4ea4\u901a\uff0c\u4f20\u611f\u6570\u636e\u7b49\uff09\u548c\u5bf9\u5e94\u7684\u5b9a\u91cf\u65b9\u6cd5\uff08\u4f8b\u5982\u5730\u7406\u4fe1\u606f\u79d1\u5b66\uff0c\u9065\u611f\u79d1\u5b66\u4e0e\u6280\u672f\uff0c\u7a7a\u95f4\u5206\u6790\u4e0e\u5efa\u6a21\uff0c\u57ce\u5e02\u6c14\u8c61\u5b66\uff0c\u4f20\u611f\u5668<\/span>\/<\/span>\u4f20\u611f\u7f51\uff0c\u6570\u636e\u79d1\u5b66\uff0c\u4eba\u5de5\u667a\u80fd\u4ee5\u53ca\u8fd0\u7b79\u5b66\uff09\uff0c\u6765\u5206\u6790\u548c\u89e3\u51b3\u57ce\u5e02\u4e2d\u5e7f\u6cdb\u5b58\u5728\u7684\u793e\u4f1a\uff0c\u7ecf\u6d4e\u4e0e\u73af\u5883\u95ee\u9898\u3002\u76ee\u524d\u5177\u4f53\u7684\u7814\u7a76\u65b9\u5411\u5305\u62ec\u57ce\u5e02\u57fa\u7840\u8bbe\u65bd\u4f4d\u7f6e\u4f18\u5316\uff08\u4f8b\u5982\u57ce\u5e02\u7eff\u5730\u89c4\u5212\uff0c\u5145\u7535\u6869\u9009\u5740\u7b49\uff09\uff0c\u57fa\u4e8e\u624b\u673a<\/span> app <\/span>\u6570\u636e\u7684\u57ce\u5e02\u4eba\u7c7b\u6d3b\u52a8\u7a7a\u95f4\u5206\u6790\uff0c\u57ce\u5e02\u97e7\u6027\u4e0e\u80fd\u6e90\u8d2b\u7a77\uff0c\u57ce\u5e02\u70ed\u5c9b\uff0c\u4e09\u7ef4\u57ce\u5e02\u5efa\u6a21\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u7a7a\u95f4\u4f18\u5316\u5f00\u6e90\u8f6f\u4ef6\u5305\u5f00\u53d1\u3002<\/span>

Qunshan’s research interest focuses on creating a sustainable urban future and tackling related social, economic, and environmental problems by using\u00a0new forms of data\u00a0and related\u00a0analytical approaches. Ongoing research efforts include\u00a0urban infrastructure location optimization\u00a0(urban green infrastructure; bike sharing station; alternative refuelling stations location modelling),\u00a0human-environment interactions\u00a0(human mobility patterns in urban\/natural spaces, particularly by mobile phone app data),\u00a0urban\u00a0resilience and fuel poverty\u00a0(fuel poverty and housing\u00a0environment sensing and evaluation),\u00a03D city modelling, and\u00a0open source spatial optimization methods development\u00a0(pysal\/spopt<\/a>).
\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u8d75\u7fa4\u5c71\u7684\u535a\u58eb\u8bba\u6587\u83b7\u5f97<\/span>2018<\/span>\u5e74\u7f8e\u56fd\u5730\u7406\u5b66\u5bb6\u534f\u4f1a\uff08<\/span>American Association of Geographers<\/span>\uff09\u6770\u51fa\u535a\u58eb\u8bba\u6587\u5956<\/span> (J. Warren Nystrom Award)<\/span>\u3002\u4ed6\u4e3b\u6301\u548c\u53c2\u4e0e\u7684\u79d1\u7814\u9879\u76ee\u5305\u62ec\u82f1\u56fd\u7ecf\u6d4e\u4e0e\u793e\u4f1a\u7406\u4e8b\u4f1a\u57fa\u91d1\u9879\u76ee\uff0c\u7f8e\u56fd\u5730\u7406\u5b66\u5bb6\u534f\u4f1a\u535a\u58eb\u8bba\u6587\u7814\u7a76\u57fa\u91d1\uff0c\u82f1\u56fd\u7687\u5bb6\u5b66\u4f1a\u56fd\u9645\u4ea4\u6d41\u57fa\u91d1\u9879\u76ee\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u56fd\u5bb6\u81ea\u7136\u79d1\u5b66\u57fa\u91d1\u9762\u4e0a\u9879\u76ee\uff0c\u6bd4\u5c14\u6885\u7433\u8fbe\u76d6\u8328\u57fa\u91d1\u4f1a\u975e\u6d32\u7814\u7a76\u9879\u76ee\uff0c\u683c\u62c9\u65af\u54e5\u5e02\u653f\u5e9c\u7814\u7a76\u9879\u76ee\u7b49\u3002<\/span>

Qunshan’s doctoral dissertation, Evaluating the Effectiveness of Tree Locations and Arrangements for Improving Urban Thermal Environment<\/em>, received the J. Warren Nystrom Award from the American Association of Geographers (AAG) as one of the most outstanding research papers, based upon a recent dissertation in 2018. He has been the PI\/Co-PI of multiple research projects from the UK Economic and Social Science Council (ESRC), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Royal Society, American Association of Geographers, National Nature Science Foundation of China, and Glasgow City Council.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

\u8d75\u7fa4\u5c71\u76ee\u524d\u62c5\u4efb\u82f1\u56fd\u7687\u5bb6\u5730\u7406\u5b66\u4f1a\u5b9a\u91cf\u65b9\u6cd5\u7814\u7a76\u7ec4\u7684\u5e38\u52a1\u7406\u4e8b\uff0c\u66fe\u62c5\u4efb\u7f8e\u56fd\u5730\u7406\u5b66\u5bb6\u534f\u4f1a\uff08<\/span>AAG<\/span>\uff09\u7a7a\u95f4\u5206\u6790\u4e0e\u53ca\u5efa\u6a21\u4e13\u4e1a\u5c0f\u7ec4\u7684\u7406\u4e8b\u3002\u4ed6\u8fd8\u62c5\u4efb\u82f1\u56fd\u7ecf\u6d4e\u4e0e\u793e\u4f1a\u7406\u4e8b\u4f1a\u5e38\u8058\u57fa\u91d1\u9879\u76ee\u8bc4\u5ba1\u59d4\u5458\u4f1a\u6210\u5458\u3001\u957f\u671f\u62c5\u4efb\u82f1\u56fd\uff0c\u7f8e\u56fd\uff0c\u6cd5\u56fd\u57fa\u91d1\u9879\u76ee\u7684\u8bc4\u5ba1\u4e13\u5bb6\uff0c\u591a\u4e2a\u56fd\u9645\u9876\u7ea7\u671f\u520a\u7684\u5ba1\u7a3f\u4eba\u548c\u5ba2\u5ea7\u7f16\u8f91\u3001\u4ee5\u53ca<\/span>Springer<\/span>\u51fa\u7248\u793e\u57ce\u5e02\u7814\u7a76\u7cfb\u5217\u4e1b\u4e66\u4e13\u5bb6\u59d4\u5458\u4f1a\u59d4\u5458\u3002\u6b64\u5916\uff0c\u4ed6\u53c2\u4e0e\u7ec4\u7ec7\u5730\u7406\u4fe1\u606f\u79d1\u5b66\u884c\u4e1a\u5185\u7684\u4e3b\u8981\u5b66\u672f\u4f1a\u8bae\uff0c\u8d1f\u8d23\u683c\u62c9\u65af\u54e5\u5927\u5b66\u7684\u57ce\u5e02\u5206\u6790\u7855\u58eb\u9879\u76ee\uff0c\u5e76\u62c5\u4efb\u82f1\u56fd\u534e\u5a01\u5927\u5b66\u4e0e\u4f26\u6566\u56fd\u738b\u5b66\u9662\u7684\u57ce\u5e02\u5206\u6790<\/span>\/<\/span>\u57ce\u5e02\u4fe1\u606f\u5b66\u7855\u58eb\u9879\u76ee\u7684\u5916\u5ba1\u4e13\u5bb6\uff0c\u5728\u9ad8\u8d28\u91cf\u56fd\u9645\u5b66\u672f\u671f\u520a\u4e0a\u53d1\u8868<\/span>SCI\/SSCI<\/span>\u5b66\u672f\u8bba\u6587\u4e8c\u5341\u4f59\u7bc7\u3002<\/span>

Qunshan is currently serving as the Secretary of Quantitative Methods Research Group at RGS-IBG starting from 2021. He served as the Board Member of the Spatial Analysis and Modeling Specialty Group (SAM) at AAG from 2018-2021. He is currently in the Grant Assessment Panel of ESRC-SDAI programme, and serves as a research proposal reviewer for UK ESRC, EPSRC, GCRF, UKRI FLF, and NSF GRFP, and a journal reviewer for top-tier international journals such as Landscape and Urban Planning, Computers, Environment, and Urban Systems, and Environment and Planning B: Urban Analytics and City Science. He also serves as the Series Advisory Editors for the Urban Book Series at Springer. He is also the organizing committee for several GIScience academic conferences such as GISRUK 2022, CPGIS 2022, and GIScience 2022. He also convenes the MSc Urban Analytics Programme in Glasgow and serves as the external examiner of MSc Urban Analytics and Visualisation in the University of Warwick and MSc Urban Informatics in the King’s College London.
