Her research explores how transnational actors, particularly states, firms, and individuals, shape and experience development in an increasingly multipolar world. Focusing on Africa-China/China-Africa relations, her work traces how ideas and institutions drawn from China’s development experience travel and are reworked in different African contexts, and how these processes influence industrial policy, infrastructure governance, labor regimes, and urban transformation. Through this work, she seeks to advance a critical and globally attuned planning scholarship that foregrounds emergent actors, human agency, and structural inequality, while informing more responsive policies, practices, and public understandings in an era of geopolitical and developmental uncertainty. Her work has been published in major journals across urban studies (e.g., Urban Studies, International Journal of Urban and Regional Research), development studies (e.g., World Development, Third World Quarterly), migration studies (e.g., Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies), geography (e.g., Geoforum, Environment and Planning A&D), and China studies (e.g., The China Quarterly, Journal of Contemporary China).

与IACP的关系（Relationship with IACP）

Dr. Fei is a new member of IACP.
