IACP Rising Scholar Award

The International Association for China Planning (IACP) is pleased to announce the 2026 IACP Rising Scholar Award. This award recognizes a junior faculty member who has demonstrated an outstanding research record in the broad area of urban planning and development in China. The winner will be announced at the IACP annual conference in Xi’an, China (July 10-13, 2026).  Along with an award certificate, the winner will also receive a prize of US $500 or Chinese RMB of an equivalent value.

Eligibility

Applicants must

  • Hold an active IACP membership at the time of application
  • Be an assistant professor or a non-tenured lecturer
  • Be an author for a paper that has been accepted for presentation at the 20th IACP conference

To be considered for this award, please email the following materials as a single PDF named “YourLastName_2026IACPRisingScholar” by April 30th, 2026, to the IACP award committee led by Kerry Fang (kfang@illinois.edu):

  • Current CV
  • A brief statement (no more than one A4 page) of research interest and qualification for this award
  • A screenshot showing active IACP membership status
