刘超博士现任同济大学城市规划系副教授，兼任上海同济城市规划设计研究院有限公司研究员。刘博士2017年博士毕业于佛罗里达大学城市与区域规划系，同年获得佛罗里达大学MBA双学位，2012年硕士毕业于北京大学环境科学系，2009年本科毕业于北京林业大学风景园林系。先后入选上海市科技启明星人才项目，自然资源部高层次人才科技创新团队骨干成员。

Dr. Chao Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urban Planning at Tongji University and also serves as a researcher at the Shanghai Tongji Urban Planning and Design Institute Co., Ltd. She earned her Ph.D. from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Florida (UF) in 2017, during which she also obtained a dual MBA degree from UF. She received her master’s degree in Environmental Science from Peking University in 2012 and her bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Beijing Forestry University in 2009. Dr. Liu has been selected for the Shanghai Rising-Star Program and is a key member of the high-level scientific and technological innovation team under the Ministry of Natural Resources.

研究方向与社会贡献 (Research direction and social contribution)

刘超博士研究方向包括：AI可持续规划、城市韧性与碳中和、智慧城市与大数据、国土空间可持续规划、数智化城市更新、城市信息学等。 承担国家自然科学基金、十四五重点研发子课题、上海市自然科学基金项目、上海市科技支撑双碳重点专项课题，教育部产学研课题，住建部科研课题等多项省部级课题；发表同行审议论文40+篇，并获得多份软件著作权与发明专利。兼任中国城市规划学会国外城市规划学术委员会青年委员，中国城科会大数据委员会委员和中国图形图像学会可视化与可视分析委员会委员等。

Dr. Liu engages in multinational and interdisciplinary collaborative research and practice. Her research areas include: AI-driven sustainable planning, urban resilience and carbon neutrality, urban science, smart cities and big data, sustainable territorial spatial planning, digital and intelligent urban renewal, and urban informatics. She has led multiple research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and provincial-level agencies. With over 40 peer-reviewed publications, she has also obtained multiple software copyrights and patents. Dr. Liu holds positions as a Youth Committee Member of the International Urban Planning Committee of the Urban Planning Society of China, and a member of the Big Data Committee of the China Society of Urban Studies, and a member of the Visualization and Visual Analytics Committee of the China Society of Image and Graphics.

与IACP的关系 (Relationship with IACP)

刘超博士在美国学习期间获得了IACP的指导和支持，并作为志愿者积极参与学会年会工作，连续多年参加学会年会并与会员开展交流。自2019年加入同济大学后，她进一步推动学术互动，多次邀请IACP会员以线上线下相结合的方式参与同济大学的学术研讨。2023-2024年与IACP共同承办”可持续城市规划国际研讨会”，2025年暑期她将继续作为团队成员与IACP一起举办AI4CITY第二届国际会议暨首届暑期工作营，欢迎海内外师生参加。

During her doctoral studies in the United States, Dr. Liu received support from the International Association for China Planning (IACP) and actively contributed as a volunteer at its annual conferences. She has remained engaged with the IACP community, attending its annual conferences to connect with fellow members. Since joining Tongji University in 2019, she has further promoted academic exchange by inviting IACP members to participate in both online and in-person discussions at Tongji. Following the pandemic, she served as a co-organizer for two consecutive years (2023-2024), co-hosting the International Conference on Sustainable Urban Planning with IACP. In the summer of 2025, she will continue her involvement with IACP as a team member in co-organizing the AI4CITY International Conference and Summer Workshop. Colleagues and students from both domestic and international institutions are warmly invited to participate.
