IACP Faculty Highlights: Dr. Rong Cai

蔡荣博士现任中山大学政治与公共事务管理学院公共管理系副教授。蔡博士毕业于香港大学城市规划及设计系,并于中山大学政治与公共事务管理学院获得土地资源管理硕士学位及行政管理学士学位。她曾担任《Urban Studies》编辑助理(2017-2019),获得过2019年AAG China Specialty Group评选的Best Paper Award。先后在香港大学(博士后)和中山大学(“百人计划”助理教授)工作。

Dr. Rong Cai is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Administration at the School of Government, Sun Yat-sen University. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning and Design from the University of Hong Kong, as well as a Master’s degree in Land Resources Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Administration from Sun Yat-sen University. From 2017 to 2019, she served as an editorial assistant for Urban Studies and received the Best Paper Award from the AAG China Specialty Group in 2019. Dr. Cai has held academic positions as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Hong Kong and as an Assistant Professor under the “Hundred Leading Scientists Program” at Sun Yat-sen University.

研究方向与社会贡献(Research direction and social contribution)

蔡博士的研究聚焦城市与社区治理、城市更新、城乡融合等,采用定性和定量的混合方法。主持国家社科基金,香港研究资助局基金项目等研究基金。研究成果发表在《Urban Studies》、《Cities》、《Urban Geography》、《Journal of Asian Public Policy》、《社会学研究》等学术期刊。她的近期研究包括城市更新中的社会参与、城乡间隙空间等。

Dr. Cai’s research focuses on urban and neighborhood governance, urban renewal, and urban-rural integration, using a mixed-methods approach that combines both qualitative and quantitative methods. She has served as a principal investigator on several research grants, including those funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China and the Hong Kong Research Grants Council. Her work has been published in academic journals such as Urban Studies, Cities, Urban Geography, the Journal of Asian Public Policy, and Sociological Study (Chinese). Her recent research interests include social participation in urban renewal and rural-urban interstitial spaces.

自学生时代起,蔡博士就是 IACP 长期的活跃成员,积极参加与支持IACP年会以及相关线上线下活动。

Since her student days, Dr. Cai has been an active, long-standing member of the IACP, regularly participating in and supporting its annual conferences and various related online and in-person events.
