Dr Wenjie Wu is an Associate Professor at the Heriot-Watt University, and formerly a Lecturer in the Urban Studies, University of Glasgow. He remains as a research affiliate at the Spatial Economics Research Centre, London School of Economics and Political Science, a co-investigator of the ESRC-funded Urban Big Data Center (University of Glasgow) and a chair professor in Ji Nan University, China.
Research and Professional Activities
Dr Wu’s research includes the economic geography and spatial economics applications of local and regional development. His work has been published in international journals such as Annals of the Association of American Geographers and among others. Apart from his academic works, he has spent time on providing advice to China, South Africa through the World Bank, China Development Bank and other agencies. He has been awarded as the World Social Science Fellow (Big data in urban contexts) by the International Social Science Council in 2015.
With IACP
Dr. Wu have been a regular IACP’s international participant and is going to chair the European Chapter of IACP from 2017.
