FACULTY POSITION-Urban Studies-NYU Shanghai

NYU Shanghai is currently inviting applications for several tenured and tenure-track positions in different disciplines relating to urban studies. Specifically, we seek applications in the following broad areas: 1) architecture; 2) urban planning 3) urban policy; 4) environmental studies; other urban related disciplines will also be considered. Rank is open, and may be at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor. Candidates must have completed a Ph.D. before they start the job and will have a record of scholarship in their field. Teaching experience and a commitment to undergraduate education are essential, and a willingness to teach across disciplines is desirable.

Academics and practitioners with an interest in urban issues in Asia are particularly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will demonstrate a capacity for both research excellence and high-quality instruction in the classroom.

Applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vita, a statement of their current research and future research plans (3 pages maximum), their teaching interests, and electronic copies of up to three recent relevant publications. To complete the online process, applicants will be prompted to enter the names and email addresses of at least three referees. Each referee will then be contacted by NYU and asked to upload their reference letter. Senior candidates are not required to provide references at this time.
