(Research direction and social contribution)
His research mainly focuses on the applications of GIS, statistics, remote sensing, big data, mobile devices, and artificial intelligence in environmental health areas, particularly in emerging infectious disease (e.g., COVID-19) and chronic disease research (e.g., obesity). His other interests include the association between climate and health, construction and optimization of national hierarchical healthcare systems, allocation and equality of healthcare resources, etc. He was the recipient for the Outstanding Article of the Year Award from the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the 2019 IJERPH Young Investigator Award. He has published more than 120 commentaries and articles in SCI journals, including Nature, Nature Medicine, Lancet, Lancet Global Health, Environmental Health Perspectives.
