刘玉亭，理学博士，华南理工大学建筑学院教授、博士生导师，亚热带建筑科学国家重点实验室（State Key Laboratory of Sub-tropical Building Sciences）骨干成员。于2003年获南京大学人文地理学博士学位。2003年至2007年，先后于英国南安普敦大学地理学院从事博士后研究，于英国卡迪夫大学城市与区域规划学院任助理研究员，2007年9月获聘华南理工大学“百人计划”杰出青年教师岗位，副教授。2012年晋升为教授、博士生导师。
